Ceramides

Squalane
A skin-identical oil derived from olives or sugarcane that is highly compatible with lip skin. Non-comedogenic, deeply nourishing, and supportive of the skin barrier. One of the most universally well-tolerated conditioning ingredients available.
Niacinamide
A form of vitamin B3 that supports barrier function, reduces inflammation, and can mildly brighten the lip area. Gentle, well-tolerated, and a smart addition to any conditioning lip formula.
Does the Skin on Your Lips Actually Absorb These Ingredients?
This is a legitimate question. Lip skin does absorb topical ingredients — perhaps even more efficiently than regular facial skin due to its thinner barrier. However, the challenge is contact time: most lip products are on your lips for an hour or two before being eaten off, wiped off, or simply worn away.
This means the most effective approach is to use skincare-active lip products that you wear for extended periods (overnight treatments, long-wear glosses with active ingredients) and to use them consistently. Consistent daily application, even for short periods, is more effective than occasional longer contact.
